Mulled Wine

Here’s a Mulled Wine recipe to keep you warm and cosy on a winter day. In this version I used a Tawny but you can use Merlot, Chianti or any full bodied red wine.

Ingredients


1 bottle of red wine
1 orange sliced
1 tablespoon honey (if you like it sweeter)
1 whole cinnamon stick
3 star anise
4 whole cloves
6 cardarmon pods
4 allspice
¼ cup brandy (optional)

Put everything into a pot on low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let the flavours infuse and try not to let it boil. Once it’s ready cover with a lid to keep it warm and be careful not to burn yourself on the first sip! Any leftovers can easily be refrigerated. Try experimenting with cranberries, goji berries, or black currants if you like.
